गुजरात विधानसभा में आज कोंग्रेस के विधायकों ने ने काफी हंगामा किया, यहाँ तक की मारपीट तक उतर आये, कारण ये था कि हिन्दू संत आसाराम बापू गुरुकुल अहमदाबाद में पढ़ने वाले दो बच्चों की 2008 में मौत हो गई थी, उसकी जांच के लिए स्पेशल टीम गठित की गई न्यायमूर्ति त्रिवेदी जाँच आयोग से, उस जांच में हिन्दू संत आसाराम बापू को क्लीनचिट मिल चुकी है और आश्रम में जो तांत्रिक विधि करने का आरोप लगाया गया था उसमें भी क्लीनचिट मिल चुकी है यहाँ तक कि स्पेशल क्राइम ब्रांच और सुप्रीम कोर्ट तक ने भी क्लीनचिट दे दी है लेकिन कांग्रेस विधायकों ने सरकार को बदनाम करने के बदइरादे से विधानसभा में हंगामा मचाया ।

जुलाई 2008 में संत श्री आशारामजी गुरुकुल, अहमदाबाद में पढ़नेवाले दो बच्चों की अपमृत्यु के मामले में 9-11-12 को सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने अपने निर्णय में संत श्री आशारामजी आश्रम के सात साधकों पर आपराधिक धारा 304 लगाने की गुजरात सरकार की याचिका को खारिज कर दी थी । मामले की सीबीआई से जाँच कराने की माँग को भी ठुकरा दिया था।  सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने गुजरात उच्च न्यायालय के फैसले को मान्य रखा था ।
न्याय-सहायक विज्ञान प्रयोगशाला (एफएसएल), शव-परीक्षण (पोस्टमार्टम) आदि कानूनी एवं वैज्ञानिक रिपोर्ट्स बताती हैं कि बच्चों के शरीर के अंगों पर मृत्यु से पूर्व की किसी भी प्रकार की चोटें नहीं थीं । दोनों ही शवों में गले पर कोई भी जख्म नहीं था । सिर के बालों का मुंडन या हजामत नहीं की गयी थी । बच्चों के साथ किसीने सृष्टिविरुद्ध कृत्य (सेक्स) नहीं किया था । बच्चों के शरीर में कोई भी रासायनिक विष नहीं पाया गया ।
एफएसएल रिपोर्ट में स्पष्ट रूप से उल्लेख किया गया है कि दोनों बच्चों के शवों पर जानवरों के दाँतों के निशान पाये गये अर्थात् शवों के अंगों को निकाला नहीं गया था अपितु वे जानवरों द्वारा क्षतिग्रस्त हुए थे । दोनों बच्चों पर कोई भी तांत्रिक विधि नहीं की गयी थी । पुलिस, सीआईडी क्राइम और एफएसएल की टीमों के द्वारा संत श्री आसारामजी आश्रम तथा उनके गुरुकुल की बार-बार तलाशी ली गयी, विडियोग्राफी की गयी, विद्यार्थियों, अभिभावकों तथा साधकों से अनेकों बार पूछताछ की गयी परंतु उनको तांत्रिक विधि से संबंधित कोई सबूत नहीं मिला ।
जाँच अधिकारी द्वारा धारा 160 के अंतर्गत विभिन्न अखबारों एवं इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मीडिया के पत्रकारों तथा सम्पादकों को उनके पास उपलब्ध जानकारी इकट्ठी करने के लिए सम्मन्स दिये गये थे । ‘सूचना एवं प्रसारण विभाग, गांधीनगर’ द्वारा अखबार में प्रेस-विज्ञप्ति भी दी गयी थी कि किसीको भी संत श्री आसारामजी आश्रम में यदि किसी भी प्रकार की संदिग्ध गतिविधि अथवा घटना होती है ऐसी जानकारी हो तो वह आकर जाँच-अधिकारी को जानकारी दे । यह भी स्पष्ट किया गया था कि जानकारी देनेवाले उस व्यक्ति को पुरस्कृत किया जायेगा एवं उसका नाम गुप्त रखा जायेगा । इस संदर्भ में भी कोई भी व्यक्ति सामने नहीं आया ।
न्यायमूर्ति त्रिवेदी जाँच आयोग में बयानों के दौरान संत श्री आसारामजी आश्रम पर झूठे, मनगढ़ंत आरोप लगानेवाले  लोगों के झूठ का भी विशेष जाँच में पर्दाफाश हो गया है ।
गुजरात में इन दो बालकों के मामले को लेकर पिछले काफी समय से संत श्री आशारामजी आश्रम और आश्रम के साधकों के विरुद्ध एक सुनियोजित भ्रामक प्रचार चलाया जा रहा था, जिसकी आड़ में असामाजिक तत्त्व आश्रम की सत्प्रवृत्तियों व हिन्दू संत आसाराम बापू के सत्संग का द्वेषपूर्ण विरोध कर रहे थे । सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के इस आदेश के बाद यह स्पष्ट हो जाता है कि ये तत्त्व सिर्फ राजकीय हथकंडे बन के हिन्दू संत आशारामजी बापू जैसे संतों पर झूठे व मनगढ़ंत आरोप लगाकर सत्संग और सत्प्रवृत्तियों में बाधा उत्पन्न करने का घोर पाप कर रहे थे । किंतु कहते हैं न, कि
साँच को आँच नहीं और झूठ को पैर नहीं ।
इसलिए झूठी बातों को लम्बे समय तक नहीं चलाया जा सकता । हिन्दू संत आसाराम बापू का इस मामले में उल्लेख तक नहीं आता, फिर भी जो उनका विरोध कर रहे हैं, उनके षड्यंत्र की यहाँ पोल खुल जाती है । बापू आसारामजी कहते है कि : ‘‘आश्रम के प्रति द्वेषबुद्धि रखनेवालों को भी भगवान सद्बुद्धि प्रदान करें, ऐसी ही प्रार्थना है ।’’
सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के उपरोक्त निर्णय ने संत श्री आशारामजी आश्रम की पवित्रता पर लगाये गये आरोपों को सिरे से खारिज कर दिया है और उनके आश्रम के विरुद्ध कुप्रचार अभियान छेड़नेवालों के मुँह पर भी करारा तमाचा जड़ दिया है ।
बिना किसी तथ्य व प्रमाण के आधार पर ऐसे विश्वप्रसिद्ध हिन्दू संत पर बेबुनियाद आरोप लगानेवाले व उसको तूल देकर समाज में अशांति फैलानेवाले प्रचार माध्यमों पर से भी लोगों का विश्वास उठ चुका है ।
आजकल झूठे आरोप लगानेवालों की संख्या बढ़ रही है । झूठे आरोप लगानेवालों को यदि सरकार द्वारा दंडित नहीं किया जायेगा तो इनकी संख्या और बढ़ती जायेगी । आरोप झूठे सिद्ध होने तक जो निर्दोष लोगों की प्रतिष्ठा को हानि होती है तथा आर्थिक हानि भी होती है, उसके लिए जिम्मेदार हैं झूठे आरोप लगानेवाले; उनको कड़ी सजा अवश्य मिलनी चाहिए ।
